My favourite entrepreneur =)

Salam 1 Islam...

Bismillah.

Alhamdulillah, again this is a post for our entrepreneurship’s assignment. We have to write an essay about our favourite entrepreneur. Honestly, I don’t know much about the entrereneurs in Malaysia, until our awesome entrepreneurship lecturer gave brief biography about some entrepreneurs in Malaysia and she told us that we have to open our eyes, knowing these successful people and of course, learn from them! And I’m so interested to get to know in deep about this successful woman, Mrs. Rozita Ibrahim, the pioneer of Sendayu Tinggi.

She had gone through the hard and thin of entrepreneur world. She is the one that hates excuses in her life, and she believes that everyone of us has the right to have a dream and be successful in our life. She began as early as 20 years old as a rubber tapper to grow up her childrens. She started her business with the start-up budget of only RM400 using her own money.

She started up her business by creating a slimming product of Sendayu Tinggi brand after doing research and experimented herself as a subject. When she lost her weight and became slim after using her own slimming product, her colleagues were shocked and wonder how it happened. Until the, she realizes that every women wants to lok gorgeous and beautiful. So she developed her product and go to ‘kedai jamu’ one by one to promote her product. She failed so many times, but she never gave up and continue to find ways to market her products. Now, after going through all the obstacles and challenges in the business world, she had gain the success and her products were well known all over the country and even the whole Asean.

She is a humble, optimistic and kind person. She always look forward and looking for opprtunities to develop her business. She has a very clear vision and mission in the business. Now, sendayu tinggi had franchised their products to the other countries like China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. She has a dream to make Sendayu Tinggi as a brand to be proud of by all Malaysian as it is becoming more and more popular among the customers in other countries. I am so proud of a women like her when she said that everyday she motivates her staff to work hard and believe with their capabilities until she can make the income increased from RM500 to RM5000 per month! This is how she realizes her dream to open more and more sub-companies under Sendayu Tinggi. She is a type of person that always inspires others to succeed in their life.

When been asked about her charity for the akhirah sake, she said that she loves huffaz. So she spends most of her money to help the tahfiz centres which in need of contributions. She also mentioned that it was so important to teach our childrens al-Quran and as-Sunnah as it was our ‘strength’ over other religions. She loves to read Islamic books and always take the beautiful quotes from the books that she read as a motivation and inspiration to continue living.

Awakening talk with AKPK =)

Salam 1 Islam...

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim...

Alhamdulillah, today is our first day for GP Posting and it was so exciting!

And here is the report for our entrepreneurship assignment...

AKPK Logo

Lat Thursday, we had a talk with Mr Nasir under a programme called POWER. This is on behalf of our entrepreneurship subject, that our awesome lecturer, Pn. Siti Nurulhuda set up an appointment with a representative from AKPK, Encik Nasir to give out a speech for the sake of our good financial planning in the future.

The Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency, or commonly known as Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK), is an agency set up by Bank Negara Malaysia in April 2006 to help individuals take control of their financial situation and gain peace of mind that comes from the wise use of credit. AKPK offers the following services to individuals, free of charge:

  • Financial education on the responsible use of money and credit management skills
  • Counselling and advice on financial management
  • Debt management programme to assist consumers to regain financial control

Their mission is to make prudent financial management a way of life for all Malaysians. And their mission is to promote financial wellness by empowering individuals through financial education, credit counselling and debt management programmes.
[Taken from AKPK website, http://www.akpk.org.my/about-us ]
This programme gives us a brief but concise explanation about managing our financial through this 6 important chapters :
  • Cash Flow Management
  • Borrowing Basics
  • Wise Usage of Credit Card
  • Buying a Car
  • Buying a House
  • Managing Your Debts
Regarding the cash flow management, we are thought on how to manage our cash appropriately and know how to invest our money. Then we had been given the outlines for applying banking finance; how to opt for the best interest rate, when is the right time to make loan, and the optimal duration for every loan that we make, which is the shorter the duration is the better since we can lower the interest rate. He advised us to at least make loan once in our life to gain banker's trust to give us loan whenever we are really in need.
After that we discussed about the wise usage of credit card. He told us that the least credit card that we can have is to and the most is two ONLY! He suggested us to have one VISA and one MASTERCARD. He tought us about how to use the credit card in terms of duration to spend, value to pay which is the maximum debt and NOT to OVERUSE it! The advantage of using credit card is we don't have to bring lots of money in our pockets to go to shopping centre.
When it comes to the chapter; buying a car, he asked us which one we prefer; either new car or second hand car. Well, he suggested us to buy a second hand car which is more cheaper than the new car. There is a long debate beyond that. Then, he opened a discussion about buying a house. Buying a house for our asset is out of the discussion because it is definitely a good investment to do. The issue is to make a choice for a house to stay, either to buy or to rent. In a nutshell, it is much better to just rent a house to stay rather than buying since that the maintenance cost is so high. If we just rent a house, the owner will settle down everything related to the house, and we just have to pay the monthly rental.
Lastly, we discussed on how to manage our debts. The gold advice are, our monthly debts should not exceed 40% of our monthly pay, and never be a guarantor! Seek for financial counselling  for free at AKPK whenever we have financial problem. They are always ready to help us!
Walhamdulillah....

Chocolate adventure =)

Salam 1 Islam...

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim...
This post has to be in full english. This is a special post for our entrepreneurship assignment, in which we have to do a full report of our field trip to chocolate factories.

Last thursday we went to Eyna chocolate factory which was located at Nilai. All of us joined this field trip, including the two babies of our batch.

We had been taught on how to make chocolate by using the Beryl's compound chocolate base. We can this chocolate base from the market at a price of RM13, and we can get about at most 100 small chocolates, depending on the sizes and shapes of our home-made chocolates.

We just have to melt the chocolate by using double-boiling method. Using this method, for example if we use rice cooker, we just have to boil the water, put the chocolate in a metal container or whatever you call it, and stir them until they melt.

Then, put them into the mould, you can refer the picture below. Regarding the mould, there are two types of mould that we had been told yesterday, which will finally determine the appearance of our chocolate; either shiny or dull. I don't know the exact term to describe the appearance of the chocolate, but as a conclusion that I could make is that the choice of your mould would determine your chocolate appearance =)

After pouring  your chocolate into its mould, put it in the freezer for 30 minutes and turn your moul upside down to take out your chocolate. And now your chocolate is ready to eat =)

Other than that, Eyna collection also do the customized design as requested by their customers. And this is one of the example.

We bought their chocolate at a special price ;

And guess who is the happiest person?

Of course, it is our cutie jannah!!

On our way back, we had a chance to empty our purse at Beryl's chocolate wonderland, located at Serdang. Here goes the story....

Alhamdulillah. We reached our faculty at around 1 pm for a session with AKPK.

Choice?

Salam 1 Islam...

Alhamdulillah. Make my day.

Entrepreneurship exciting class > Exam hadith > Happy ifthar time > Happy circle =)

Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah....

In life, there are lots of choices that we have to make.

And most of the times, we know which one is good, and which one is bad. But still, most of that times, we choose the bad one. AND how bad we are.

Always do this ;

There are lots of thing in life, that we do not agree with others.

"Why they think so?"

"Why they do so?"

"What's wrong with that?"

"What is my fault?"

Critical thinking is a good value to have. But to respect others' points of view is another aspect that we have to consider.

So I conclude :

#1 We can learn a lot of things from others' points of view, attitude, way of delivering thoughts and pattern of thinking.
#2 We can have our own stand, as long as we have a strong evidence.
#3 We are the one that make the choices. So be a good decision maker!!

With the happy kids at happy circle. How miracle ukhwah is =)
